Departure alternatives from Sevilla

Our Spain tour ends in Sevilla. We cannot find desirable flights leaving from Sevilla. We have the option of adding on additional travel days. We are looking for suggestions for alternatives to a Sevilla departure. Thank you.

Hi, Becky,

Where are you flying to? We are doing this tour also and what I have found is that the ease of flying from
Sevilla depends somewhat on the day of the week you are flying. Our tour ends on a Friday so I thought we would spend a couple of extra days and fly to San Francisco on Sunday but the flights were horrible-long layovers and convoluted routing. Same for Monday. But on Tuesday, we can fly on Lufhtansa to Frankfurt with a short layover and then nonstop to SFO. For some reason, that flight combination doesn't exist every day.

Have you checked the ITA website: https://matrix.itasoftware.com? It gives you flights from all airlines but you can't purchase from it. It is really helpful in giving you a picture of what flights are available.

Of course another alternative is to take the train from Sevilla to Madrid. There should be lots of options from Madrid to most places.

BTW, which tour are you going on? We're on the Sept. 26 tour. Good luck with your arrangements.

You don't mention what date you wish to depart Sevilla or to where you will be travelling.
Excuse the pun, but at the moment we are flying blind.

We begin the tour on September 1 and end on 18th (Friday). We will be flying back to Washington D.C.
I had not checked alternative days for departure from Sevilla but the ones on Friday had us traveling for 24 hours. I so appreciate the help.

I took the train back to Madrid, spent another night in Madrid and got a nonstop flight on United to IAD from there.

I enjoyed having an extra day in Madrid as the 2 days on the tour were not enough to see all the things I wanted.

A little help. What do you mean or want for "desirable flights leaving Seville" Also go on to Granada for a couple days and home from Malaga.

Leave Seville on a fast train to Madrid (2.5 hours). Explore Madrid, then the next day fly home via Madrid. I'd bet there are direct Madrid to DC flights, if not you may have a layover in NY or somewhere else in the US East coast. Shouldn't be too long.

OR

Fly Seville to Barcelona OR Lisbon (should be many direct flights). Explore that city for a day or two. Fly home from there.

OR

Train to Granada (if you haven't already been there), explore Granada, then in a day or two fly Granada to Madrid to home. I did this in November. Left Granada at 7AM, landed in Madrid at 8, left Madrid at 11AM and landed in Chicago 8 hours or so later. Easy. I would have thought a similar schedule would be available out of Seville, but apparently not.

Thanks to all. Your alternatives have been very helpful. As of now we are leaning towards the train to Madrid with some extra time in Madrid.
