December holiday Sevilla-Cordoba-etc.

We are planning a very quick December trip to south Spain with our 2 boys (12/14) over the holiday arriving 25-31 (we got amazing cheap flight) and seeking advice for this time in Sevilla, Cordoba, Malaga, Granada etc.. Our tentative plan is to fly to Madrid and train to Sevilla on 25th. Our very tentative plan includes a first night with a hotel in Sevilla, hoping to book a dinner there, then leave the evening of 26 to Cordoba (26-30) making that our home base while we day trip. On the 30th return to Madrid and fly out the evening of the 31st.

I welcome any advice! Which cities to see, which to avoid! What to take into account with this time of year. Any advice with the 25th - sigh.... With the boys we definitely want to go to Carmino del Rey.

We are an active family from NYC and can navigate transportation.

Thank you!

The daylight hours are, of course, shortened that time of year. Here’s a chart, around 9.5 hours daily.

Also, the time for day tripping may become tiresome - are you driving or bus or train? Probably 1.5 - 2 hours at least from Cordoba to Malaga or Granada. One way.

No experience in Andalusia that time of year. I have spent a week in Madrid with day trips to Toledo and Segovia in December. I do remember returning, public transport, in the dark from the day trips.
