Day trips from Seville?

We will be in Seville for 4 nights and are looking for a possible day trip destination. We have a car, what is worth seeing that is an hour or less from the city? We will be going to the white hill towns after Seville, spending about 5 nights there, so we are not looking to hear that way.

Do not miss Córdoba. If you want a break from driving then trying to park it's a very short train ride. Maybe leave your car at the station? The Mezquita is fascinating. We had a great lunch at Casa Mazal, in the Jewish quarter. They serve Sephardic Jewish food in a delightful courtyard.

We very much enjoyed Carmona, and the Roman city of Italica. We found Jerez hard to navigate, and the horse show wasn't as good as in Vienna. We found Gibraltar to be missable, but others like it.

Thanks. We are spending 2 nights in Cordoba. The restaurant recommendation will come in handy. Do you have ideas about white hill towns to visit? We are 2 nights in Ronda also.

Arcos de la Frontera was one of our favorites. We had a great lunch at La Carcel.

I spent a couple nights in Jerez de la Frontera, about an hour from Seville, and really enjoyed the town. Sherry bodegas, horse events, some lovely ancient sites, a great market (for locals, not really a tourist site) and some fine food.

Jerez or Cadiz as a day from Sevilla.
Arcos as a stop on your way to Ronda.
Zahara and Grazalema as options from your full day in Ronda.

Use your day going to Ronda and your day leaving the city to visit pueblos blancos. Use your full day there to see its sights.

If you plan to visit Jerez, check when the Royal Equestrian School has a horse show (they are only 2-3 times a week) and plan for that. You can also take sherry bodega (winery) tours. Tio Pepe's is fun, Pedro Domecq is another you can take without booking. Keep in mind that Spain's alcohol limit for drivers is only 0.5 (the US is 0.8).
