Looking for suggestions for day trips from Barcelona during a 5-day visit next week.
We'll be there during Carnival which may change the events and vibe of each place.
Have had suggestions for Stiges, Montserrat, Girona ... One of us is more into scenery and museums and historic sites. The other is more into celebrations and posing for a good Instagram photo. Any suggestions that might work for both of us?
I'd probably take the train to Tarragona (museums and historic sites) for the morning and lunch and then after on the train back to Barcelona stop at Sitges (fun and Instagram) for the afternoon and evening fun doing a vermut crawl.
Years ago we took day trips to Monserrat and Figueres (to visit the Dalí museum). With Carnival going on, you may not want to go anyplace else.

Ended up going to Girona. Highly recommend. Traveling companion wanted to go to Stiges, but it was Carnival and all the trains were sold out. He can go another time.
Had a great trip to Barcelona. 10/10
