Any recommendations for day trips from Barcelona? We will be there for a week. Mallorca seemed like a great stop for a 7-8 hour ferry ride is a bit much. Also considering taking a short flight to add a second city to the trip. Going in May.

Montserrat. It's one of the most breathtaking places I've ever seen, and it's a short train ride (and funiculare or cable car ride) from Barcelona.
In 2017, we took 3 small-group and/or private tours with Spanish Trails, and were very pleased with this company.
We took a private tour to Tarragona and Sitges, and small-group tours to the Priorat Wine Country and Girona and the Costa Brava. The guides were excellent, and the included lunches (with wine) were some of the best meals of our trip - and in Spain, that's saying something!
