Do we need to book Train from Seville to Cordoba in advance for day trip

Hi all! It's almost our time to go to Spain! Is there any need to book a train in advance from Seville to Córdoba or can we just decide on a day after arriving in Seville? Do we need to book Mezquita in advance or just go when we get there? Thank you all!

You'll probably want to take an AVE, AVANT or ALVIA (express train). Those trains have assigned seats and can sell out, so it depends to some degree on how picky you will be about your travel time. What you can do is monitor the train status (how many sold out) on the Renfe website for each of the potential day-trip days. If you see things tightening up, you can buy tickets in advance (which might save you a bit of money).

I've just looked at Monday's situation, and I see that the 8 AM train and the 2:58 PM train are sold out. Between those two sold-out trains are eleven trains with tickets still available. For Sunday (it's already Sunday in Spain as I write this) I see just one sell-out. If you're traveling around the time of a local holiday, things could be tighter.

Hi, I think that you will be ok if you buy the tickets for the Mezquita once you are in Córdoba, I did that a couple of years ago and I had no problems. Also, for the most part, I think you will be safe if you buy train tickets once you are in Sevilla too.

If you buy train tickets in advance, you don't have to wait in line at the train station to buy them. Sometimes there's a line for tickets at the Mezquita.
