Is it possible to day trip to the Mediterranean coast from Madrid? Or is it too far to be worthwhile?

It takes at least 2 hours 30 minutes on high speed rail to get to Barcelona.
Some people fly also.
Maybe you should make it an overnight day trip

If you want to go to the coast, then do it by all means, but not in a day from Madrid. I would advise choosing one over the other.

Not to the coast in a day trip..but a 2 day trip.
Looking for a great day trip.f rom Madrid....try Toledo, the former capital. It is a captivating town with a soul that comes out at night too...only about 45min to an hour from Madrid by train...stay until after dark and have dinner, stroll around...after the day crowds leave...you will be glad you visited...
