Day trip from Ronda with no car

We're in Ronda for 3 nights and 2 full days. We are taking the train and bus, and will not have access to a car. Is a day trip possible to another city from Ronda by bus or train? If so, what would you recommend? Thank you for your help!

As of 2019 you could day-trip to the white village of Grazalema by Damas bus. It's a small town that doesn't take too long to see, so you'll want to check the bus schedule to be sure you aren't spending too long in transit compared to the time needed to visit the town. In 2019 a one-day round-trip to Arcos de la Frontera wasn't possible from Ronda; it could be done from Jerez or Seville. That situation may have changed, and Arcos is larger than Grazalema, with more to see.

Malaga is a nice city if you want a place with multiple sightseeing attractions rather than just cute-small-town atmosphere. It will take a bit over 2 hours to get to Malaga from Ronda, however.

This website (which doesn't seem to be an official one) has links to a lot of bus company websites, though not to the Damas site: Andalucia.com bus info As you can see, there are a lot of destinations with bus service from Ronda. The question is which ones are interesting enough for an overseas visitor to trek to, how long those trips take and whether you'd be able to get back to Ronda the same day.

Ronda also has some rail service. Whether that would offer a good day-trip opportunity I do not know.

What I'd do is head straight to the Ronda tourist office upon arrival in town and seek advice. Those folks will know what is practical. Bus schedules are day-of-week sensitive, so be very careful about that.
