Husband and I would like to take a day and visit a vineyard...base is Barcelona. We have 3 children and aren't sure whether vineyard trip would be family friendly? Children are adventurous and I think they would find the process of winemaking interesting...obviously not the tasting...
Trying to balance our interests and theirs...
Thoughts are welcomed...first time to Spain...
You want either Freixenet or, my favourite when visiting with kids, Codorniú.
Check out a post from earlier this summer: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/spain/tour-guides-for-a-day-trip-from-barcelona-to-cava-country ... and do consider to combine with a visit to the farmers' market on a Saturday morning in the nearby town of Vilafranca del Penedès, merely 3 stops from Sant Sadurní d'Anòia, where both vineyards above mentioned are located. Everything explained in that post.
Enjoy!
As if my friend above needs backing up, but I can also recommend the visitor experience at Codorniu. We had kids on our tour, and they particularly enjoyed the 'train' ride through the underground cava cellars. The modernist buildings are a wonderful bonus, just like the bubbles in the cava.
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction for information. It was extremely helpful! Looking
Forward to this experience on our trip.
LOL!, thanks David
Not at all Elizabeth (right?).
