Day Tour to Montserrat after cruise in July 2025

My husband and I are looking to do a day tour to Montserrat after our cruise that ends in Barcelona on Saturday, July 5, 2025. Any suggestions for companies that would pick you up from the port (with luggage) and then do day tour and return you to Barcelona Airport hotel?

I have one quote from Barcelona Day Tours for just the two of us and another quote if I can get a couple more people to join us, but I'm not having any luck.

Also, does anyone else have any comments about using Barcelona Day Tours? I thought I read somewhere on here that they had issues, which concerns me, as we are doing a day tour of Barcelona with them the day after we arrive to Barcelona before our cruise.

Option 1: Travel from the cruise port to the train station where the train leaves for Montserrat. Store your luggage for the day. Enjoy your day trip to Montserrat. No tour is needed - just do it. Return to the train station, retrieve your luggage and go to your airport hotel. Make sure you know what time the luggage storage place closes.

Option 2: Travel from the cruise port to your airport hotel. Leave the luggage then go to Montserrat for the day. No tour is necessary for a day trip to Montserrat. Return to the train station then go to your hotel at the airport.

Sorry, can't help you here, just to mention that the vast majority of visitors visiting Montserrat do DIY as it's extremely easy. Therefore, it might be hard to find a "tour" catering for your needs: when there's little demand, there's little offer.

If you can't find anything that suits you, maybe you could consider leaving your luggage in Barcelona -in one of the many luggage store stores- and DIYing to Montserrat, then upon your return, picking up the luggage and going to the airport by train/metro/taxi or bus. Just sayin'.

As per Buffalo's option 2, depending on where your hotel is located, I would seriously advise against it since you're going to have to invest quite a bit of time, noting that you're gonna have to go in opposite directions.

You need to tweak your logistics: you are staying too far away from the center. If you re-book into a hotel closer to the center, you can take a taxi from the ship to your hotel, and have a guide meet you at the hotel or go to Montserrat on your own. We stayed at the H10 Marina Barcelona last time we sailed to the US. It's not in the tightly packed tourist area, but it's close to the foot of Las Ramblas, the metro, taxis. I prefer it to ones I've stayed in closer to Plaza d'Espagna. But, any hotel in the center would be more convenient for sightseeing. Then, you can take taxi to the airport early in the morning for your flight out.

I've used Spain Day Tours for Cartagena/Murcia and Seville. Lisbon was cancelled due to flooding and we were reimbursed. If it's the same company, they are often used by Cruise Critic roll call groups. I would assume the guide would show up, but you might want to ask your hotel to refer you to a private guide. We've had good service that way. Most private half-day tours are 300 euros. But a full-day tour with travel will be well over twice the price.

I like Buffalo's idea of storing your luggage at the train station and taking a taxi to your hotel afterwards, but is there luggage storage in the Barcelona train station nowadays? Trapsing to the private storage places is a PIA. Enric would know if there is storage.
