Day in Barcelona need help

Traveling to Barcelona for the first time with my family in June. We have one full day in the city as I am not counting the day we arrive or depart. I signed up for a Sagrada Familia guided tour that departs at 11:30. We are staying in Eixample district. Please advise me if it is possible to follow this itinerary.

8:30 walk Las Ramblas early morning before Sagrada tour. Leave Las Ramblas in time to arrive at Sagrada by 11:15. (10:30??)
11:30 Tour Sagrada (90 Min)
1:30 head down to Barceloneta beach area for lunch somewhere near the water
3:30 walk the Gothic District and see Cathedral de Barcelona

Is it possible to complete this in the amount of time I have allowed. I prefer to see Las Ramblas before 10:00 anyway when it gets more crowded. What transportation is recommended?
Thank you

There's nothing special to see or do on Las Ramblas. Consider going to Sant Pau Recinte - beautiful Art Nouveau site designed by the architect who Gaudi studied under. It opens at 9.30 and is a 15-20 minute walk from La Sagrada Familia. After the tour, you could go to Las Ramblas and graze through La Boqueira for lunch, then continue to the nearby Gothic District and the Cathedral.

I agree with Chani. If I had one day in Barcelona, I wouldn't spend any of it on the Ramblas (unless I was on my way somewhere nearby) or in Barceloneta.

I suggest that after you tour Sagrada Familia, you take the 10 minute walk to the Saint Pau Modernista site - it is fantastic. If you need lunch, there are multiple options along the way.

Cabs are cheap and everywhere in Barcelona, with limited time I highly recommend them.

Another vote to skip Las Ramblas. Along with your Sagrada Tour, and limited time, the Gothic and Gaudi walks would give you an ideal overview of Barcelona history. We took the free Runnerbean tours of these areas. Enjoy your time in Barcelona!

Do you know if you have to pay to just walk around the grounds of Sant Pau?

I believe you do, but I confess that I am not sure where I paid for my ticket. I think you can see the front of the main building before paying, and it's set back from the street, so there must be some lawn there. Perhaps Google's Earth view would be at least a little useful here.

To keep a Sant Pau visit to 90 minutes, I believe one would have to be very selective about which parts of the posted material one read.

Great suggestions, Should you end up walking down the Passeig de Gracia, make sure to see the block of discord portion or Illa de la Discordia. Also walk past Casa Mila which is towards the end of Passeig de Gracia as you are walking away from Placa de Catalunya. It's fun to see the Modernista buildings even if you aren't going inside them. We did walk into the lobby of Casa Amatller for a quick look.
