Hello! I am traveling with my 10-year old in April - coming from Barcelona to Cadaques (where we'll spend 2 nights). I think Dali's work and quirkiness would be fun for a kid and I like to expose her to different styles, but I wouldn't say we are huge fans who want to spend a large amount of our short time in that region with Dali. We probably won't see both, do you think we are better off with the Theatre Museum or the house? The former we'd see en route to Cadaques (we are traveling by train), the second we'd walk to our full day in Cadaques instead. Thank you!
I'd go for the house, not that I didn't enjoy both. But a smaller dose for a 10-year-old might be better.
Two nights in Cadaqués and you're not travelling by car?... what will you do "stuck" for a full 24h in Cadaqués? I mean, it's a very beautiful and enchanting town, but it's quite small to be there for two nights with a 10 yo, even if you arrive in the afternoon of the first day and leave in the morning of the third.
if you like nature and like to walk, explore the "camí de ronda", a set of trails by the seafront alongside the coast from the top to bottom of Costa Brava, more than 135 miles: this for an introduction https://www.ottsworld.com/blogs/camino-de-ronda-coastal-path-hike/ and this to download the free guide from the Tourism Office: https://empordaturisme.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/CALESiCAMINS_EMPORDA_CAT-EN-DIGI.pdf
Have not been to the house but totally loved the Theatre Museum. The museum is chocked full of quirky/incredible/bizarre exhibits, some of which are interactive. There are a few hallways lined with sketches that a 10 year old might find boring but, otherwise, plenty of things that will fascinate. And, if of interest, the small jewel collection is amazing.
I've toured both. I think a 10 year old would like the Museum in Figueres better (Much more stuff to see and be amazed with) than the small house in Cadaques.
