Dali-Museum in Figueres

In Figueres I seem to recall you can leave your luggage either at the bus station across the train station or at the museum itself, but note the space is limited and I doubt you'll be able to leave too big of a suitcase -or too many of them. Sorry not to be more precise but it's been a few years I've been there.

But note that many foreign visitors don't realize Dalí-Museum is a complex of several buildings/collections located in several towns: Figueres, PortLligat and Púbol (http://www.salvador-dali.org/museus/en_index/) and the distance among them is considerable* http://bit.ly/1EVDcV7 so it's recommended to plan for two days if visiting the three of them. You can go from one to the other by taxi.

One thought would be that you rent a car in Colliure and make a day trip visiting the three locations as by car is the easiest (and more convenient way) to do so, but should you not have the time, the most visited (and traditionally identified with when talking about Dalí-Museum) are the ones in Figueres itself.

(*) "considerable" as for doing it on foot, LOL!

We were in Figueres last year. We left our luggage (RS-style backpacks) at the bus station as the previous poster suggested. Very easy. The Dali museum is great, and we enjoyed the walk through the town to get there from the station - lots of art deco buildings and a great plaza with lots of shady benches to enjoy a lunch purchased from the neighboring cafes.

Christine - I should have mentioned: try to travel on a regional train, not the TGV, or you'll end up at the new Vilafant station in Figueres, which is more than a mile and a half from town. Not good!
