Has anyone traveled from the cruise port in Tarragona to Barcelona for sightseeing? Tips?

There are frequent trains and the journey takes about 1.5 hours.
However, the cruise terminal is not very central to the city. The actual terminal is about 6 km from the station, and about 4 km from the cruise welcome centre (2km to the ststaion).
Why not stay and sightsee in Tarragona, a loverly city with Roman remains, including an amphitheatre, and a medieval centre.
