I've not traveled to Portugal yet, so will only address your itinerary for Spain.

In my opinion you're shortchanging Sevilla. I'd suggest spending at least 3 days (4 nights) in Sevilla, especially if you consider visiting Córdoba as a day trip.

I presume you'll have a car while in Nerja?

Don't forget to book your Alhambra tickets 3 months in advance for best time selection.

Enjoy your trip!

Hi Priscilla; yes we're picking up the car in Madrid and will return it in Madrid at the end of our month tour.
I think you're right on spending more time in Sevilla thanks for the suggestion...

Hi Jean,

I didn't realize that you'd be driving during your whole trip.
Judging from your itinerary you'll be covering much ground.

When is your trip?

My preferences for this trip would be ...
1. Head straight to Porto and start your journey there.
2. In Portugal, get a car at Faro for your time in the Algarve only.
3. In Spain, get a car at Seville just for the drive to Granada.
4. Include extra nights in Sevilla, allowing you a day to Cordoba for the Mezquita.
5. Include a stay in Granada for the Alhambra.

4 nights Porto
5 nights Lisbon
5 nights Quarteira
4 nights Seville (Cordoba)
5 nights Nerja (Ronda, Malaga)
2 nights Granada (Alahambra)
2 nights Toledo
3 nights Madrid

I would pull some nights from Nerja and add at least one (for a total of 3) to Seville and one-two to Granada. Seville has so much that you will want another day. Plus I don't see Cordoba on your list, that is a highlight and can be done from Seville. Granada is just so magical at night that you will want at least a night to see San Nicholas viewpoint and the Albayzin at night.
