crazy question about a day/ overnight trip from barcelona

Me and my buddy will be in Barcelona from 20 July till 31 July and have rented an apartment for the time. We are huge Rafael Nadal (tennis fans) and are thinking of visiting Mallorca for a day or maybe one and a half. I don't mind leaving the apartment and maybe spending some time in Mallorca paying for an overnight ar a hotel. Is this feasible or would I be wasting time and money? I am assuming we would leave most of our things at the apartment and just take a days worth of essentials to say we visited our heroes homeland. Mallorca is a short flight from Barcelona I assume.
