Covid test for flight between BIO and PMI

I have an upcoming trip to Spain and it didn't occur to me to check entry requirements for flying within Spain. I just saw that Iberia Airlines has the following info regarding entering the Balearic Islands region:

Other fully vaccinated passengers

Foreign nationals who are fully vaccinated must present one of the following options:

OPTION 1: PCR COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours prior to arrival.
OPTION 2: antigen COVID-19 test result taken within 48 hours prior to arrival.

I am assuming they would accept the test results from an at home antigen test? I'll be purchasing a pack from Abbott BinaxNow and taking those with me.

I think this webpage for Spain Travel Health, provided by the Spanish government will help you.

https://www.spth.gob.es/

I don’t see that testing is required for Mallorca if you are fully vaccinated and from the US. Nor do I find anything about travel restrictions within Spain. The site also discusses acceptable tests. Our daughter is also headed there within a week.

May I ask where you got the tests you are taking with you?

Safe travels.

UPDATE: It is the airline that decides whether or not to accept your test results, (thus allowing or denying you to board). United and American Airlines give specific details regarding home tests.

I would not assume those Abbott BinaxNow tests will be accepted in Spain. They are approved by the FDA and CDC for use to enter the US. I haven’t read anything about other countries accepting them. I’m not saying they won’t be accepted in Spain, just suggesting that you should do some research to find out for sure.

The airline accepts antigen tests, but of course doesn't specify any details beyond that.

I would suggest going by the tests that Spain accepts. The gov. website states “The accepted tests are those approved by the European Commission”

https://www.spth.gob.es/info-pcr

It looks as if the self-tests are not currently accepted: “Rapid antigen self-tests are not included.”

This link provides all the info. on tests in the EU
