Costa Brava Summer 2015

I'm just about to buy my plan tickets for next summer. I'm flying into Barcelona, planning to spend a week in Sitges, a few nights in Barcelona (this isn't my first time there) and was hoping to spend 3-5 days in the Girona, Figueres, Cadeques area (this will be my first time in this area).

I've searched the forums (fora?) and have read information about the seaside villages. My question is a little more general. Seeing as I'm going to get my beach time in Sitges, what villages on the northern Costa Brava are not to be missed? Which ones are best to stay in overnight? I get the impression that this area of Spain is replete with European tourists, which is fine, but are there areas to avoid (like young people partying late into the nights)?

Based on other advice I've seen here, I think we'll take a train to Girona and rent a car there for the time we're there. Generally, what's the lowdown for this part of Spain in early July?

Thanks for all the advice.

Personally I'd avoid Lloret de Mar and Calella (not to be confused with Calella de Palafrugell, located a bit further north) as both are sort of what you don't want (party-wise). Other than that, Cadaqués, Roses, Llançà... there are plenty of picturesque little towns to stay. And further inland too. Have a look at this site for a 'first' look: http://en.costabrava.org/ it's the official tourist board for that region of Catalonia, lot's of ideas there. And for a general look on what's like: http://infocatalonia.eu/w/4Xv0s and this is another one but just focusing on the coast: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFCeI6VAoPU
