Costa Brava - Begur as home base- suggestions?

My husband, 4 year old son, and I will be staying at a friend's holiday home for a few days in Begur before going to Barcelona. We went years ago and there were little towns around with local arts, crafts, open air markets, etc. We are looking for that experience again, but don't remember the towns we visited. Does anyone have suggestions? Also looking for beach and family-friendly, reasonably priced restaurant suggestions.
Thanks!

There are many indeed: Roses, Calella de Palafrugell, l'Escala, Llançà, l'Estartit, Cadaqués... have a general view of the area here. This other video is a slideshow which has some names on it so you can identify the different towns and villages.

For detail info this is the tourist board of the region and this for the county where Begur is located.

We just got back from spending three days in Tossa de Mar. We stayed at the Capri Hotel right on the beach. Wonderful. Their restaurant was between the hotel and the beach and the food was good and cheap. Have fun!
