We will end up in Denia Spain at the end of a hiking trip, then we have two completely free days before our flight home from Alicante. I'm considering a stop over town/city between Denia and Alicante as opposed to spending two nights in Alicante. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am considering Calpe to facilitate hiking around the Peñón de Ifach: https://explorecostablanca.com/calpe/penon-de-ifach/
We spent five nights in Denia last year and loved it!!! POSADA DEL MAR. Great walking along the sea.
Denia itself is very nice. Calp is aggressively high rise. Altea is a pretty white town with beautiful views from the old town. Here is a comparison of the towns in the area from a few nights in Denia:

Thanks for the recommendations. I should have mentioned that we are already spending two nights in Denia, which we are looking forward to. The question is whether or not to spend two nights in Alicante, or break the journey up with a stop over on route to there. We are planning on taking the tram to Alicante which runs roughly down the coast so it would need to be on the tram route.
