Hello. We will be in Madrid for this holiday. I imagine most public buildings are closed but wondering about other things of which to be aware. Has anyone been in the city for that day to give some insight into possible processions or other events to witness? I was in Seville for Semana Santa once several years ago and really enjoyed the different events.
Apparently it is not that big a deal in Madrid. A few years ago we visited Toledo during Corpus Christi and it was a big deal. Quite a long procession / parade winding through the streets with all sort of religious, civil, and military “units”. We quite enjoyed the experience.
Thank you for the information. That is good to know!
I am currently in Madrid after finishing the RS Barcelona/Madrid tour yesterday. I cannot comment on Corpus. Christi day in Madrid. However, I can confirm the earlier post about its being a huge deal in Toledo. Our local guide in Toledo told us in greAt detail how important it is and showed us the large monstrance in the cathedral that is carried during the parade.
