Four adults need one way transport from Cordoba to Seville on Wed May 14. Carry-on size luggage. Late afternoon. Train would be at least $100 if booked now. Is ride share a good option ? Thanks
Take the bus. Bus transport in Spain is pretty reliable and comfortable. It's a short trip.
Alsa has tix for 5 euros on that day. Although I am not sure where you are looking
when you say train is $100. The 11:19 Renfe departure is $13.
Always consider bus/coach as an excellent option for your travel inside Spain. Safe, reliable, on time, modern, clean, cheap...beats the train in many itineraries.
I think taking a bus from Cordoba to Seville instead of a train is not a good idea for most travelers. The train takes about 40 minutes; a bus will take a minimum of 2 hours.
I agree about the bus. Not an option. We don't want to leave Cordoba until 5PM the earliest. The cheapest train to Seville is after 8PM. Too late for our needs. The 5Pm-ish train is about $100 for the 4 of us. Ride share based on Rome to Rio looks much cheaper but not sure that's a good way to go. Will keep tracking train prices and book that 5PM. Thanks to all for replying.
A private driver would def be much more than 100 (for four)
I would not bank on Rome2Rios pricing. That site is good for figuring out what bus companies and airlines might serve a route, but their pricing I usually find off, and I probably would never purchase tickets through them.
If the ride share looks attractive, try to find what company and get a real quote. If an "Uber-type" ride share where you arrange when needed, I would nix that idea and plan on bus or train.
Thanks to all for comments and suggestions. Based on all we will go via train. Reason for late afternoon/early evening is because we won't arrive in Cordoba until mid-afternoon on Tuesday May 13 and we want to get in a lot on Wednesday. Cordoba (and Spain) will be first time for 2 of our party. Happy travels!
The rail fare is likely to increase as your travel date approaches. If you are price-sensitive, you may want to buy those tickets now (if bargain-priced tickets for your travel date are already on sale). I think you can pay a bit extra for Elige tickets and get some cancellation/change features. Check details on the Renfe website. I think Iryo also serves that route, so check its schedule and fares.
