Cordoba / Sevilla

My Rick Steves Tour ends on a Sunday in Sevilla. I am looking at options to get back to Madrid for my flight home. My original plan was to further explore Sevilla on Sunday, train to Cordoba early on Monday, spend the night there, travel on to Madrid on Tuesday, and fly home on Wednesday. However, I remembered/read that Monday is a typical museum/attraction closing day in Spain. I am wondering what will I miss out on in Cordoba, if I spend Monday in Cordoba? I did want to spend a little more time in Sevilla to explore sites not covered on the actual RS Tour.

Suggestions? Always appreciated!

You'll find closing-time information on the official websites of the Mezquita and any Cordoba museums you plan to visit. Be sure you have accurate information as to whether your Monday happens to be a holiday, though. Also check for mid-day closures. They can be an issue if you don't have much time in a city.

The other possibility is to head back to Madrid in the afternoon on Tuesday rather than first thing in the morning. It's a short train ride, so that should be OK if you don't push your luck with a late departure. That would allow time for at least one sight in Cordoba on Tuesday morning.

Looks like the Mezquita is open on Mondays from 1000-1800 and is free from 0830-0930 every day except for Sunday, per their website.
