Cordoba or sevilla in Spain

I am doing the Andalucia RS Tour starting Easter, April 20, 2025 which starts in Cordoba and ends in Sevilla. I am traveling solo and will extend my stay for 6 nights.

Would you suggest dividing the additional days or staying extra time in Cordoba only. I prefer small towns. How would you describe the difference between the two places? This will also be Holy Week and it looks like there are celebrations in both places.

What recommendations would you make?

Thank you in advance.

I'm a bit confused about your dates, as holy week ends on 20 April.
The holy week processions in Seville are probably the largest in Spain - it would be worth your while reading up on them on Wikipedia or similar. Seville will be very crowded and hotels expensive.
Cordoba will also have impressive processions.
Cordoba is my favourite city in Spain, as it is quite compact.
Seville is larger and has more major sights.
I'd look at what your tour covers and decide which place you'd rather spend time in.

The nights that I’m adding are before the tour begins -Holy Week.

I agree that Cordoba seems better in my opinion. I must decide if a whole week would be too long in one place.

The tour only has 2 nights in both Cordoba and Sevilla

I would add a few before start in Cordoba and a few in Sevilla at end
2 nights in Sevilla is way too short

I’d make the decision quickly especially for Cordoba as Santa Semana lodging may be difficult

I agree with ChristineH about splitting your extra days between Cordoba and Seville. Two nights in Seville is not nearly enough to see the important and interesting sights, and to wander and explore this gorgeous city. Make sure you spend some time at the beautiful Plaza de Espagna! Explore Triana, visit Casa di Pilatos. There is so much more to see in Seville. Make sure you have a good guidebook. Seville is filled with plazas, fountains, beautiful architecture, and parks. A great city for wandering. Take a carriage ride.

I love Cordoba, too. Stroll across the Roman Bridge, explore the Juderia, visit Palacio de Viana, and visit the Victoria Mercado.

Agree with splitting the extra time, and do book fast.
Cordoba is by no means a small town but the historic v center might feel like a "large town," while Sevilla definitely feels like a city but again, the historic core is very walkable. Both cities are jewels. I've been to Sevilla quite a few times and will return in March. It's one of those places that fortunate people seem to visit over and over again. For good reason!
