Cordoba on Christmas Day?

We are considering going to Cordoba for Christmas Day (taking the train from Malaga). I know the Mezquita will be open and they will have mass mid-day but I'm wondering if there will be any restaurants open (doesn't need to be fancy) and whether it is a place that would be interesting to walk around even if the shops and stores are closed. Also wondering if there will be big crowds at the Mezquita that day. Should we plan to stay into the evening to see the city at night?

We spent Christmas in Rome two years ago and everyone said all the restaurants would be closed and it turned out they were all open so walking around felt just like every other day.

Thanks!

Have no idea about Cordoba but when we were in Seville a couple of years ago, it was shut down fairly tight on Christmas day. A few restaurants associated with large hotels were open and packed. But everything else was closed.
