Hello,
I am writing my itinerary for visiting Andalusia spain, and figuring out the distance one destination to other and its transportation. My plan is to take ALSA bus from cordoba to Granda. Can anyone tell me the bus stop where ALSA depart from? And How far it is from Mezquita ( Mosque)?
Also any halal fast food suggestion nearby mosque will be appreciated.
Saleha,
The bus station in Córdoba is across the street from the train station on Avenida Vía Augusta.
You can take a city bus to the station and your hotel staff may guide you with such. According to google maps, the bus station is about a 23 minute walk from the Mezquita.
Since I was traveling with my elderly mom, we took a taxi from our hotel (across the Roman Bridge) to the bus station & I think we paid €8 or so (October 2015)
There are many places to eat near the mezquita but don't know if there are halal fast food places.
Your hotel staff may be of help here too.
Make sure you book your Alhambra tickets 3 months in advance for best time selection.
Enjoy your trip!
I've always (3 visits) taken a taxi to and from the train station. It's easy to get lost in the old city's twisty streets. I have no idea about halal, but it's easy to find vegetarian food throughout Andalucia.
I agree with Chani about taking a taxi from the bus station to the Mezquita or elsewhere in the old sections of Cordoba. Further, I recommend this in most Spanish cities (that is, taking a taxi on arrival from the train or bus station to your hotel). Taxis in Spain are pretty cheap, and the streets can be quite confusing when you are new in a town. I've also never had any problem with crooked cabbies in Spain - they've always used the meter, and any extra charges were legitimate (such as the extra charge for putting items in the trunk).
