We’re looking for a small hands on cooking class. We’ve been to several excellent ones in England and Italy where we prepared almost all the food with help instead of watching a chef cook the food for the meal. We even went to the market first to buy the food in one place. Has anyone found a half or full day class they can recommend in Madrid, Cordoba or Seville? We like well prepared food that we could duplicate at home without spending all day in the kitchen.
My colleague really enjoyed this class in Seville: http://tallerandaluzdecocina.com/lang/en/
My mom and I took a tapas cooking class at Cooking Point in Madrid and enjoyed it very much. They require a minimum of two participants and since it was off season it ended up being just the two of us which was neat. If I remember correctly, we made about 5 different tapas, a desert and sangria. Since it was just the two of us, our instructor also taught us to make gazpacho. It was very hands on and we did most of the prep work and cooking (we didn't use the fryers when making patatas bravas, and our instructor put things in the oven and took them out for us mostly because we were engrossed in other tasks). The food was delicious and I've continued to make several of the recipes at home.
Thanks for the replies. A cooktop for each two people is great for a hands on experience. We've found that only one cooktop for a whole group ends up being a demonstration when the class is filled.
