Confused about the Sagrada Familia ticket times!!!

Hello fellow travelers!

First, let me apologize if I am asking a question that’s probably been brought up many times! However, I am trying to plan our trip to Barcelona and am confused ( even after checking out the website and different travel forums) about the timing of a visit to La Sagrada. On their website, it looks like tickets to the towers cannot be purchased separately from the basic tour and audio guide, but one must choose a timed entry for one of the towers. So, if I book a tower for say, 11:00 a.m., will I be allowed to enter the Basilica when it opens at 9:00 a.m., or must I wait until 15 minutes prior to the tower time to enter? I realize I can stay in the Basilica for as long as I wish, AFTER the tower, but I just am not sure about how far in advance of the tower timed entry I can enter. I really want to try to see the basilica either early, before the crowds begin, or in the early evening, which I’ve also heard can be less crowded.
Any advice is greatly welcomed!!

From what I understand, your entry time is 15 minutes before the tower time. I believe they want you to basically go straight to the tower and do that first so that they can realistically control capacity for the elevators, and then you can spend as long as you want in the rest of the facility after your tower time. I will be buying tickets in about a week so I can report back then if need be.

I just returned from Barcelona. The description on the site is a bit confusing but the time they give you is for the time you can enter. As you come in the elevator to the Nativity tower is immediately to your right so it makes most sense to go up it first. If you have backpacks you'll have to put them in a locker (it's a 1 Euro deposit but you get it back when you pick up your bag.)
