I have only read about having Chocolate con Churros in Madrid. But I assume that they must serve it in other cities! Will we find places that serve this indulgence in Toledo, Cordoba, Sevilla, or Granada? Just wondering. Thanks!
It may be an indulgence for you but it is the norm for many everywhere in Spain - http://tinyurl.com/q6j5pqb
Luckily, you can find them in other cities. I especially like "Valor" chocolates. It is a company that makes chocolate, but I have been to franchises in Segovia, Sevilla, Barcelona and La Coruna. If you go to their website: http://www.chocolateriasvalor.es/localizacion/ you can look and see. I'm sure there are many other cafes that serve it too.
We had them at Cafeteria Alhambra in Granada. Can't miss it as the churros are plainly advertised outside the shop. There are 2 that I saw and they very close to each other in fact. Get the fresh squeezed OJ with them for breakfast. Deelish.
Start by ordering one to share and then determine if another is needed.
We found many places that made fresh churros each morning all over Spain. If you find a place with churros, I'd be amazed if they didn't also have hot chocolate. One order to share is a good idea, you can always order more.
I agree with the advise to get one to share and see if you ever want another. I love chocolate and thought I'd be scarfing these down, but once was enough and the two of us didn't come close to finishing. It is a cloying treat. We got it as a dessert after a tapas crawl so maybe we would have found it more enticing if we were starving and got it as an afternoon snack, but it was way to sweet for us to do more than sample it.
