chestnuts and cork

My group is hoping to travel for 9 days to Madrid, Cordoba and Granada in November. One of the people would like to see cork oaks and chestnuts. Are there trails/paths (preferably <5 kilometers) which have cork oaks and chestnuts on them (preferably near Madrid/Cordoba/Granada)? Even if we have to take a day to make it happen, that might be worthwhile. If seeing oaks/chestnuts was a requirement for a Spanish trip, what should we do?

Many thanks!

The cork trees I remember in Spain were in Extremadura not near the cities you intend on visiting. The post harvested trunk color is very pretty if you’re lucky enough to be in that area when the cork is being harvested.

There are a few websites that show the areas of Spain where one can find them or have information about them.

There is a gorgeous cork forest near Jimenez de la Frontera; the town also has an interesting cork museum.
