Made reservation on renfe Barcelona to Madrid but would like to leave an hour later
How do I do this without waiting in line for an hour?

If you mean you purchased a ticket on line on the RENFE website (and not something else or some other company) there is a 'Changes' button left hand side, half way down the front page. Never used by me, never needed.

It will depend on the type of ticket you bought. The deeply discounted tickets do not allow for changes. The mid-range discounts allow for changes. Full fare tickets allow for changes.
