I am not clear on the new Covid rules on entrance to Spain, particularly for U.S. citizens. Formerly one registered on line within 48 hrs of arrival and entered vaccine records PDF and got a QR code to be presented on arrival. Do I understand now I just need my vaccine card (fully vaccinated and boosted)? Thank you in advance!
I haven’t heard anything about that changing. I just looked, and there isn’t any mention about change on the Heath Department’s website.
Oh, except you don’t think you have to upload a PDF of the vaccine records—just enter dates and attest to the truth of them.
I don’t see that much has changed. You must be vaccinated and fill out the Spanish Travel Health form Consult the Ministry of Health website for complete information. You can also consult the U.S. Embassy in Spain website.
Looks like the big changes are for British travelers.
Just entered Spain yesterday coming from Portugal. We filled out required forms online. We received the QR codes. At airport baggage check, the airline asked to see our US vaccination cards and passports. It was our experience that no one wanted to see our QR codes. When we finally arrived we walked through the door to customs that said ‘nothing to declare’, and there we found ourselves in the main airport. My suggestion is to fill out the forms, do the steps, and be pleasantly surprised if nobody looks further
Entered Spain last week. QR code still needed. Scanned after landing at Madrid
