We are traveling to Spain in November ,
We have our Iryo high speed train tickets already .
The Iryo support site said we can us one and the same ticket for both .
My understanding is that a separate ticket needs to be obtained from the Cercanias ticket machine , which is then put into the ticket counter which allows you passage through to the boarding area.
If so , on our tickets there is only one bar code - can this barcode be used to get a cercanias ticket ?

I’m afraid I don’t have a clear or definite answer for you, but…
Cercanias turnstiles do not have a barcode access.
I pulled up old Renfe tickets, and they have a five character, alpha numeric code that is entered into a Cercanias ticket machine to get that ticket for free.
I pulled up past and pending IRYO tickets and don’t see a 5 character code for Cercanias combination.
This has me curious… will report back if I learn anything.

According to Iryo, maybe some Cercanias turnstiles do have barcode readers, ans your QR from IRYO should work.
If not, at the Cercanias ticket vending machine select “Combinado Cercanías“ and then scan the IRYO QR code.
Only good from four hours before the long distance departure.
