We have 5 days, 4 nights to spend, flying into Sevilla. We are planning to rent a car, drive to Cadiz and stay on the beach. We would do day trips to Sevilla, Gibralter, and Jerez for the horses. Might fit in Italica, too. Is the car a good option? Is it hot the first week in June? How is the ocean there for swimming? After reading other posts, not sure it is the right plan. Please share your thoughts.
The car is going to make getting around a lot faster and easier.
Beach time in Cadiz might be crimped for a day trip since it's a couple of hours eac way. Also, the beaches are along the center of the peninsula and the historic area is out on the tip. It'll be warm enough for swimming. The beaches are fairly crowded.
There's one problem with day trips from Seville. Getting out is easy, especially southward. Getting back in and hitting a spot is a royal pain in the tail. I know the city well enough - - out is fifteen minutes; in close to a stinking hour and frustrating.
Just to be clear, we are renting the car in Seville, but staying in Cadiz. We will drive back to Seville for a day trip. Day trip the other sights, but come back to Cadiz or nearby to a beach place each night, hopefully.
You were clear, I misread. Then the day you go back to Seville will be the only rough one.
Driving in that area is a good option. We drove through Cadiz to Sevilla and didn't find it particularly challenging.
