Would it make sense to rent a car in Malaga? There are 5 of us all adults. If thought to be a good idea what is involved in rental. We are all us citizens with Us drivers license. I have travel a lot internationally, but never rented a car always did train and public transportation. Other option renting car in Seville and returning at Malaga, but as in the states a different drop off location can be very expensive.

Dropping at a different location within Spain is not usually expensive. In addition to your US driver's license, each driver must be registered on the rental agreement and should get an International Driver's Permit at AAA (about $20 + a photo), which translates your license into other languages. Your post doesn't say much about what you want to do, where you are staying. Renting a car for 5 people is a great idea! I just rented a car from Malaga Car and it was a great experience. Very inexpensive. I highly recommend taking out the extra insurance. Get an international drivers license beforehand, make sure you have your US license with you. It is very easy to drive in Spain. you do have to be VERY careful of how you park, where you park, and NEVER LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR CAR!!! Even for a second. If you do rent a car, pull the sticker off the back that identifies it as a rental car first thing!
