We are traveling this weekend to travel to Jerez, and driving down to Vejer. I haven't rented a car yet as we initially wanted to hire transport. (That seemed too complicated and expensive.) Anything I should know about renting a car in Spain? Thanks in advance!
Presuming you are from the U.S. or Canada ensure you have an I. D. P. (not for renting as the renter is unlikely to ask) but for the authorities.
Hi Neil,
I am from the US. What is an IDP?
Thanks!
An International Driving Permit, more detail easily googled. Presumably too late for you to acquire one. Unless you do something to attract the police or Guardia Civil this should not be a concern, but you are driving illegally, with time out of your day and monetary penalties if something should go amiss. Drive carefully.
Wow! Thank you so much! Guess we should have looked into this earlier. :) We don't need a car, just decided at the last minute it would be cheaper than hiring transport for an hour long journey. We are too cautious to drive illegally. Thanks again for saving us any grief! Cheers!
Go to AAA branch location you can get it done in one visit and walk out with the IDP -$15 +12 (passport photos).
We just figured that out! Thank you both SO much! Will toast a sangria to you!
Heather
We just got our IDPs!! Thanks to you both. We wouldn't be driving (legally) nest week without you!
Cheers!
Thanks for the thanks.
