We are thinking of renting a car for Granada to Madrid but thinking if it's worth it. Leaving Granada after lunch then was thinking to stopover Ronda for a few hours then go to Madrid? It will be our first time to rent a car in Europe so any tips would help. Basically it will just be a one night car rental. Is it worth it? Do we just take the train and skip Ronda?

In my view, if you are going to Ronda on your way, then you would need a car. The trains/buses on that route may limit your schedule. You will have much more flexibility with your schedule if you rent a car when you are travelling outside of a larger city.
We are actually going from Granada to Sevilla and thinking of renting a car so we could stop in Ronda. We looked at train and bus schedules and it just did not make sense.

Do you realize how long it will take you to drive from Ronda to Madrid?
According to rome2rio, it will take you around 6.5 hours to drive from Ronda to Madrid (343 miles) and this is not accounting for any stops.
If you leave Granada after lunch, visit Ronda "for a few hours', then you'll arrive to Madrid 7-8 hours later.
I'd suggest saving Ronda for another trip and taking the train from Granada.
What does the rest of your itinerary look like prior to going to Granada?

Thank you- we will just skip Ronda. I am thinking of just taking the bus. I saw this website bus bud is that ok to buy Alsa?
