We are planning to rent a car next year to vist Pueblos Blancos. Is Spain like Italy in terms of fines while driving through the small towns?

Do you mean restricted no-drive zones? There are none in Spain. You do need an international driving permit for each driver. It's a great place for driving, good roads, beautiful scenery with pull-outs to admire the views.

Thank you Chani. I would not like to drive in Spain if there was an issue with hidden cameras in the small towns like in Italy.
