My wife and I are soon to be first-time visitors to Spain, starting in Madrid. I read Rick's post about cannabis clubs in spain. It seems he endorses the experience for those who'd be interested. But as was the case when we traveled to "legal-pot" Uruguay in 2017, I don't find specific information anywhere about how to safely and legally execute a transaction.
We don't speak Spanish and don't have a native to counsel us. Thanks for any help.

It'll be interesting if others know better, but I think you might find this tricky. These social clubs are private membership organisations and you'd need to join - which likely means an existing member to support you and Spanish residency. The clubs work on a "loophole" that allows private growing and use, but not selling. So they can't just allow any tourist in and sell them the drug (at least not the ones operating legally, I'm sure there are some working the system, especially in tourist centres, but which also get raided and closed down fairly often) Perhaps your friend can advise how he joined a legal one?
