Can you recommend Day trips from Malaga to Cordoba & Granada

I will be staying in Malaga from Oct 1 to Oct 6. I wanted to do possibly 2 day trips, one to Cordoba & Granada. Can you recommend any day trip tour companies? If I book with a tour company or guide, that would include the price of the Alhambra and La Mezquita tickets, correct?

Also, I should reserve these day trips now while in USA, and also all my train tickets from Sevilla to Malaga, and then to Madrid, correct?

We drove to Granada from Malaga and didn’t use a tour company. Easy and beautiful drive. We booked our tickets to Alhambra online 60 days before. We took the AVE train from Madrid to Malaga and from Córdoba to Malaga. We booked both of them online as soon as booking opened (about 60 days prior). We booked via Loco2.com which was exacted same price as Renfe website, and all in English and either credit cards or PayPal accepted. We took the middle distance train from Malaga to Seville and from Seville to Córdoba and bought tickets 2 days in advance (though we could have bought the same day). We had no problem buying our Mezquita ticket at the gate with no long line. We used the storage lockers in the bus station next door to the train station for our luggage.
I would consider a daytrip to Caminito del Rey from Malaga. It is accessible either by car or train. It is a beautiful hike through a narrow gorge.

Thank you so much for that info. I'm not able to drive, so I'll need a tour co, hopefully one with air conditioned bus, and a good guide. We are first staying in Sevilla & taking train to Malaga, & using that as base. We will do the 2 day trips from Malaga, then take train from Malaga to Madrid with a day trip to Toledo, which i love.

For you museum lovers, can anyone tell me about the Russian museum in Malaga? Did you like it?

It seems that I should buy my train tickets along with the senior discount card, and the day trips now before I leave.
Thanks again....

I should have mentioned - you can only buy the senior citizen train discount pass inside Spain. You can’t buy it online. That’s why we did the early bookings for AVE online. We bought the tarjeta dorado at a Renfe station in Madrid, and then had the senior discount on the middle distance trains. The middle distance trains w/ senior discount were very reasonable and not necessary to book ahead. However, for the fast trains, the advance ticket discount is cheaper (and your seat reserved) than waiting til arriving in Spain and purchasing the senior discount card and then booking the fast train.
