Can we get down at an earlier station than the destination station

We booked a train ticket from Madrid to Seville with stops and one of the stop if Cordoba.
Due the change of plan, we want to get down at Cordoba and visit Cordoba. Can we do that? Thanks!
We plan to buy another ticket from Cordoba to Seville after visiting Cordoba.

Yes, of course, you can get off the train wherever you want on the way to the ticket destination... but, obviously, you'll invalidate the rest of the journey so, as you point out, you'll need to purchase another ticket should you want to board again towards Seville.
