This is our first visit to Barcelona but won’t be our last. We are planning to see Sagrada, Miro Museum (one of my favorite artists) and one more place. Either the Palace of Catalan Music or Casa Pedrera is our next choice.
I know we are missing Park Guell and Picasso museum (and many others) but we also want to do a food tour, a bike ride and Montserrat for some hiking.
I really try to intersperse activities with major sites when we travel. We love “experiences” as much as the major must-sees.
Thoughts from those of you who have been to these places? Thank you.

I just made that choice, taking our 12-year old granddaughter to Barcelona. I had been both places, so I chose the Palau de la Musica because it's less crowded, which allowed us to see many architectural features without being crowded or rushed. When visiting the houses, we were in a line of people shuffling through from room to room, and everyone wanted to take the same pictures. We took the guided tour offered by the music venue.

No question, not even close: The Palau. See if there is an event you are interested in seeing.....I cannot describe how exquisite it was to see NORMA performed there last March. Something I would rank up there with my best travel memories.

Exactly the information I was hoping to get. As always, this forum has great advice and friendly people.
Thank you for making our decision easier. I’m hoping mid November will be a bit less crowded than normal but we shall see!
I’ll look into a performance there as well.

I was gonna add my vote for Palau de la Musica Catalan as well. I might suggest a daytime tour while it's empty and the sunlight is streaming through the windows if you have to choose between that or a nighttime performance. Also, remember that there are 2-3 different active performance spaces so be sure you're choosing the main hall if you go that route.

If you like experiences go see a performance at Palau de La Musica
We did last year and it was amazing to see how the building was meant to be used. One point the performance was a lot longer than we expected. When we thought it was ending it was only intermission. The show we saw was about 3 hours. We had to rush to get dinner afterwards.
It was after 11 PM. We did feel like locals since not sure how many tourists were around us. We did not hear any English . Could we have seen more on a tour? Probably but the experience was worth it.
