Hello! I'm walking the Camino - starting in Sarria but arriving at Santiago airport. I will miss the convenient train and direct bus connections due to how late I land. Does anyone have suggestions for a pick-up driver? Thank you in advance. In case it matters - I'm traveling late September.
When we walked the Camino we used Santiago Ways to book our hotels, transport our luggage, and drive us from Santiago’s airport to Sarria. They also had drivers available if anyone in our group couldn’t finish out a day. Since I know they have drivers, try them or a similar company to arrange transport. Since many walkers fly into Santiago they might have a shuttle bus you could hop on.
Are you on any of the Camino FB pages? There are lots of them! People are always asking about this.
Can you stay near the Santiago airport over night and head to Sarria the next day when there are more buses, etc. ?
Thank you so much! These are great suggestions. I'm not on Facebook but I'll try to get back on in order to have a look.
I use this Camio forum a lot for anything about the Camino, and this was a question about getting from Madrid to Sarria, but covers your questions too.
Rome2Rio is also good for getting some ideas or options.
