I am planning a pilgrimage walk this fall around mid September and want to get some input on which route to take. I also would like some input on necessities for the trip...thanks in advance.
There are some guidebooks for the Camino de Santiago, and I recommend that you consult at least one of them. Such an effort is way beyond my capabilities, but I hit a lot of the major pilgrimage cities in northern Spain this summer and saw a lot of pilgrims (many if not most carried two walking sticks/poles of some type). You will have a lot of company. Some of it will be limping, so I urge you to be very careful in selecting your footwear.
There was a great post here fairly recently by someone who did this - she lists what she brought:

If you're on Facebook there are pages devoted to walking the Camino.
Where do you want to start?... Santiago is the end of the way but it starts in a number of different locations in Europe: http://caminoways.com/media/CaminodeSantiago-954x464.png
There is an excellent forum dedicated to those wishing to walk the pilgrimage. It's worth checking out:
Thank you everyone for your input. I do have one more question, does anyone know where I can buy some of the gear?
nira, you posted in May about your walk, sounds like it's a month away now and I'd encourage you to get some solid planning going asap. You should seek to get all your gear together and work with it-walk long distances in the footwear of choice, loaded pack on your back (unless you're in great shape already) and make sure it all works for you. Unless you are already training or do significant physical activity on a regular basis, I have a concern that you sound unprepared. As far as where to "buy some of the gear", an REI or similar store would be a good start if there's one near you.
Didn't the answers that we gave you the first time you asked about the Camino work?
