Hi there. I will be traveling solo in Barcelona during Merce. First, anyone know if program details are out or even exact dates?
Second, do you know where the Correfoc occurs? i planned to stay at Gallery Hotel but it may be in the middle of this event.
I am also looking at an apartment at the very southern end of pl de gracia, right near the big intersection. Would that be too close to the merce action ?

I did an extensive search and read that site.
Most dates are not provided, I have read different locations for the Correfoc apart from the one provided on the this site.
My hotel denied that the correfoc occurs in the area listed.
I want to avoid the smoke and such due to
A respiratory condition.

I recall there was usually a big Correfoc at the base of the Montjuïc mountain. Not sure about this year.

My wife and I have also been tryna track some sort of schedule, not coz we're obsessive but instead due to our need to plan other activities. Hard to book say, some unrelated reserved visit when it might conflict with a Merce event.

Regarding those correfoc rascals (I say that affectionately), apparently their run was always held over at the avenue Via Laietana. But then a few years ago, authorities switched the location instead to Passeig de Gracia, starting at a staging area near La Pedrara (c. Rosello) then proceeding southbound to the Illa de la Discordia nexus (Batillo et al). Your hotel seems to be about 5 blocks north, so I wouldn't worry.

I have read that there are 2 correfocs and also that the last night is 24 or 25!
Its also important because I am returning on from an all day dali tour and am concerned about getting a taxi back from the drop off point at 8 pm!
One of the funniest comments that I've ever come across in reading decades of travel reportage had to do with those Correfoc runs:
"I'm sure that this would be illegal in any other country."

The program for this year is NOT yet officially out. What one can see now is SOME of the activities, mostly those related to the music area of the festival, but there's still the main body of them to be announced. As I said in another post, keep looking at the official site https://www.barcelona.cat/lamerce/en for the final programme to be published. This should happen within the next few days.
Official program including heritage activities just came out today.
