Calella de Palafrugell or LlaFranc for 4 days in early October

We are looking for a charming town to relax in and take easy walks the first week of October. We will be coming from Barcelona. WE are debating between Calella de Palafrugell and LlaFranc. It might come down to the choice in hotels. We looked at the San Roc hotel but I'm concerned that the walk down to town might be too steep for my husband. Is it steep?
We would like a hotel by the coast. Would appreciate your input!
