Cadiz Carnival 2024. Sun block, T shirts, and Jackets.

We are currently in Cadiz for two weeks.

For those heading to the carnival, so far the weather has been stunning, blue skies, glistening ocean. This may change but we are pleasantly surprised at how warm it is. It's like two different seasons. Walking on Av Campo del Sur along the Atlantic ocean is
T Shirt and sunblock weather. There are people sunbathing. Walking the city streets is cooler and a warm jacket is required.

Dining early isn't an issue without a reservation, however this will probably change during carnival time. Many restaurants open at 8.30pm. We've managed to find some that open all day. The market is a great place for casual dining at the many food stalls.

If you have time visit the relaxing Parque Genoves gardens, or walk along the ocean to watch the nightly sunsets. There are numerous historical sites to enjoy.

Wish were here for the carnival. Enjoy.....

We’re also getting excited to be there the first week of Carnival! Thanks for sharing the current weather & clothing. We’re staying at a penthouse apartment (splurging at locations that count!) that will have the beautiful sunset views. And it’s our backup plan for eating - assuming it will be more difficult to get into the restaurants at night that week.

Hello Jean & Jim,

That's a great idea to stay in an apartment Jean. We are so pleased to be staying in an apartment, also with glorious sunset views.
We struggle with the food at times and shopped for supplies at the the market today. The produce at the market is excellent.

Jean we have previuosly communicated regarding Cadiz.

For other tips, if you need a change from Spanish food I can suggest Restaurante Puerta del Eden specialsing in middle Eastern type food. It's located in a very special setting through the historical Arch of the Rose, the famous ancient western gate. It's open from midday onwards. We have no trouble getting a table if we arrive about 6.00pm, or dine early for lunch.

Other than that many restaurants have the same menus.

I hope you both have a wonderful trip.

Christine
