caceres to avila

hello all,

i am trying to figure out the best way to go from caceres to avila on may 15. looks like there are trains but takes over 6 hours with a transfer in madrid. apparently, there is a 4-hour bus service on alsa according to rome2rio. however when i go on alsa website avila is not even listed as a destination. am i missing something? is rome2rio being unreliable as it is known to be? is there a long-distance bus app you recommend, similar to trainline or raileurope?

any help will be highly appreciated!

I did a quick check for 15 May and it appears to get to Ávila you’ll need to go through Salamanca then switch to a train or bus there to continue on to Ávila. I saw no direct connection.

The shortest duration trip to Salamanca was 3 hours. Most were 4 hours. 18.52€
To Ávila by Renfe (12.7€) is just over an hour while the Avanza bus (8.31€) is 1.5 hours.

That’s a little shorter than going through Madrid, but not by much.

A couple of other options -
(1) omio.com - they bought rome2rio not long ago. Like rome2rio, it might not always be reliable but it does suggest options to further explore.
(2) blablacar.co.uk - a ride share site. It will probably be a lot quicker (& cheaper), but some drivers might not get around to posting the rides until a few days before the trip.

@Going234 - Thank you for the information! i just looked at blabla car's website. never used them before. are they comparable to uber, lyft or bolt? are the drivers reliable?

Hello
Blabla car is not the same as Uber and Bolt. At Uber and Bolt they are drivers who make a living by lifting and bringing people.

In blabla car is someone who has to take a trip, has his own car and decides that he wants to share expenses with someone who wants to take the same trip. It has been operating in this country for several years and it has been a long time since I have visited its page.

In conclusion, they are not driving professionals, they are individuals who offer the service through the page and have their own review systems.

Are they as reliable as Uber and Bolt? Well, look at the number of reviews and consider that they are not professional drivers.

I used the alsa.es website.

I knew that Ávila was on the train line between Madrid and Salamanca, so figured there had to be a connection. I also checked to see if there was a connection from Palencia to Ávila, but there wasn’t. Good luck.
