Buying Bus Tickets in Spain

When reading Rick Steves' book on Spain, he advises buying tickets a few days in advance of your bus trip. If you arrive in town by bus and plan to leave by bus, he advises getting your departure ticket when you arrive at the bus station. From this I gather that one doesn't need much advance time to get a seat on a bus -- say, one or two days. Do you feel this is accurate? I have explored some of the bus websites such as www.movella.es and can see the schedule and price for the buses I will need. I could book ahead on line, but is this necessary?

Bus two trips I am planning for Spain trip, May 2019 are: Granada to Tarifa [via Algeciras] and Tarifa to Sevilla

What is your experience in buying bus tickets in Spain? I'd appreciate any advice you can give. Thanks!

I had to think about it....but I bought my Alsa bus tickets ahead of time. I can't remember if pricing changed from early research to trip pending...but it might have; thus the reason to buy ahead. It looks like Movelia (not Movella) is a third party site. (I don't click links from first time posters.)

The prices go up the closer to the date and your preferred time could sell out
