I saw this company Bus Bud is that a safe company to buy Alsa tickets? I am from Toronto and I am not familiar. Trying to buy bus tickets from Granada to Madrid on Oct 17 early in the morning. Any suggestions? Thank you.
No idea about this site, but you can easily buy from ALSA's own website. It has trouble with American credit cards, not sure about Canadian. Use paypal if your card doesn't work. I've done this several times, printed tickets either at home or at my hotel.
You can also buy at the station. If you are worried about time or staffing for very early AM you can go a day ahead. But if I have a set schedule I prefer to buy online, easier and gives peace of mind.
Largish bus stations served by ALSA will have ALSA ticket-vending machines. They liked my US credit card just fine. I loved that they allowed you to print out convenient schedules, too.
Occasionally there can be a bit of a back-up at a staffed ticket window, so I wouldn't want to buy the ticket at the last minute even if I were utterly confident that the bus would not be full.
I used an American Express card with ALSA. Not sure, but I think ALSA rejected my other cards. Sometimes if you have the 'Verified by Visa' feature active on your card it will go through. I think that works on Renfe rail tickets. Another option is to call your card company and ask them to allow (unblock ) transactions from ALSA.
There's nothing special about the card I was using. I was in Spain last summer.
I bought online. If you bought with a physical card that might be the difference. There's probably a lot less risk of fraud if a physical card is used. The difference could also be security policies between card issuers.
